Chapter IV

INDUSTRIAL LOCOMOTIVE
1945 - 1960

Industrial drive,
international vision

In the immediate aftermath of the war, KONGSBERG emerged as a driving force in the restructuring and development of Norwegian industry. The business developed in tandem with the nation, as we worked in collaboration with national and international companies and organisations that shared our vision of world class standards and leadership. From the creation of everyday essentials, such as pots and pans, to defence developments (in association with the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment, FFI) and the evolution of the maritime industry, KONGSBERG had a hand in getting Norway back on its feet and truly up and running.
